Smallmouth or Largemouth? Lake Champlain Without Scope

Kyle Patrick, Chris Zaldain and Jordan Lee head to Lake Champlain with a familiar tournament decision: smallmouth or largemouth? The lake has both, but with forward facing sonar off limits, figuring out which bite to build a tournament around gets more complicated.

Smallmouth are roaming across open water, where big waves make searching and fishing difficult. Largemouth offer another option, but committing to them means finding a bite strong enough to leave the smallmouth behind. A mix of both could be the answer, if the weather and time allow it.

With three days of practice, the pros have to weigh those options and find an approach they can trust. Changing winds, rough water and scattered bites make that decision harder on a lake where forward facing sonar has changed the way anglers fish.

Watch Kyle Patrick, Chris Zaldain and Jordan Lee work through the smallmouth or largemouth decision in the latest episode of Deep Dive On Tour.
