Jordan Lee’s 70-Mile Gamble at the Pasquotank River
Day 3 on the Pasquotank River forces Jordan Lee to make a decision: stay close and maximize his fishing time or gamble on a 70-mile run south into the Chowan River in search of a better class of bass. Lee took the gamble.
After a long run across the Albemarle Sound, he finds a river loaded with life. Shad are being blown out of the water, and trees, logs and cover seem to be everywhere. It looks like the kind of place that could change his entire tournament, but getting those fish to bite is another challenge entirely.
Back in the Pasquotank, Chris Zaldain begins the day in third place and less than two pounds from the lead. He has been averaging approximately 20 pounds per day with a pattern built around current, shade and baitfish. Now he has to find out whether it will hold together for another day.
The Pasquotank is one of the strangest and most unpredictable fisheries on the 2026 Bassmaster Elite Series schedule. Wind can change the water movement, productive windows can disappear quickly and every long run comes with a cost.
