A Pre-Spawn Deep Dive

At Deep Dive, we have watched livestreams of professional level bass tournaments and recorded data on over 10,000 fish catches from these tournaments. We record a TON of data points about each catch to give you the most relevant information possible. Let's take a Deep Dive into our tournament pattern data for the pre-spawn season and pull some interesting insights out.
Top Water Clarity:

In the above graph above you can see that 2/3rds of our recorded catch pre-spawn patterns are from stained water.
Top Time of Day:

Coming as a shocker to beginner anglers, the time of day does not matter. All our pre-spawn patterns were equally distributed between the 3 main times of day: sunrise, mid-morning, and afternoon.
Top Sections of the Lake:

The mid-lake main lake was the section of the lake with the most tournament pre-spawn patterns, but the lower-end main lake and mid-lake back half of the creek were close behind.
Top Structures:

Here are the top 5 structures in our pre-spawn tournament pattern data with the top spot going to the pocket.
Top Covers:

Here are the top 5 covers in our pre-spawn tournament pattern data. Docks have the most results in our data, but the other 4 covers: Rock Transitions, Brush Piles, Offshore Grass, and Laydowns are not far behind.
Top Baits:

Last but not least is the top 5 pre-spawn baits. The bladed jig and jerkbait are neck and neck in our data. One thing to note is the Deep Dive tournament data set was collected with over a decade of professional tournaments. The notable missing bait here is the jighead minnow which has been dominating tournaments in recent years. This technique has only recently taken off and because our tournament data covers a much larger timespan, it is under represented and not in our top 5 pre-spawn baits.
